Footing Drains

Footing Drains typically involve excavating around perimeter of your foundation and installing or replacing your footing drains along with running it to a water collection or discharge point that is often times a French Drain, Curtain Drain, Drywell, or connect to the storm drain in the street.

French Drains

The most common application for French drains is to distribute water within a drain field of a septic system.   All Water Solutions also utilizes French drains behind our retaining walls to relieve ground water pressure.  The perforations are located at the bottom of the page to discharge the water seeping down from the drain rock above.

French drains are a great drainage solution provided by All Water Solutions of preventing surface water from infiltrating your foundation and causing damage or moisture issues.

Curtain Drains and French drains are synonymous, but typically you will find curtain drains expressed as a "catch all" term by All Water Solutions for a long run of perforated pipe across a low point in property absorbing large volumes of water run-off with the drain rock exposed at site elevation.

Drainage Project Example - Woodinville

In the pictures below, the homeowner had an entire backyard that was wet year round. The main problem stemmed from the back of the house being at the bottom of a hill of a neighboring property.

Project details: We added footing drains, removed the existing sod and moss, added a 4" base of 5/8" minus rock, 4" of topsoil, and excavated the hill side and added two sets of retaining walls with french drains behind each set of walls. In this case, we also provided the landscaping for the homeowner.

Drywells

All Water Solutions may incorporate a drywell into your drainage solution. All Water Solutions usually uses a drywell to tie-in your footing and gutter drains. A drywell is simply an excavated hole with a size that is calculated based on expected storm water runoff volume and size of roof structure. The hole is excavated to a certain square footage volume where the water flows by gravity into the structure from the pipe. The entire structure is filled with drain rock, covered with filter fabric, and backfilled.

Swales

Sometimes All Water Solutions may diagnose a drainage solution as simply excavating an area into various swales to divert the water into a different direction for your drainage solution.
